How to Add "Recent Posts" to Blogger

1. Login to blogger account and then go to Dashboard.

2. Click Layout and then Page Elements.

3. From your template layout you can click Add Gadget.

4. Add Feed Widget by clicking + icon.

5. Enter the URL as http://yourblogname.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default

6. Click Continue. 7. The given feed url retrieves the recent posts available on your blog. Alse select the option no of posts needs to be displayed, Date of post, Author of posts if required.

8. Change the title to Recent Posts and then click Save. 9. You will get the output as below.

How to Add 'Read More" in Blogger

1. Login to blogger account

2. Dashboard >> Layout >> Edit HTML

3. Select Expand widget which helps in additional codes in the given text box.
4. From the HTML codes, just search tag <p><data:post.body/></p> Copy the given code here and paste it to above the tag <p><data:post.body/></p>

5. Again paste the below code on below to search tag.

Wordpress is one the best blogging software for blogging compared to other blogging softwares. Its very simple and user friendly, flexible software to customize thier application. You would able to customize the design, features, options based on all your requirements. It has more wordpress users in the world.

Requirements :

We need to have domain and spaces to avail the feauters of wordpress. But instead you can also execute the wordpress programs on your local computer by making your computer as webserver with free of cost. To change your computer to avail wordpress service you need to have below softwares installed.

1. PHP
2. MySQL
3. Apache
4. phpMyAdmin

These softwares can be download from the website and installed on to this server. After the installation you need to cofigure al these software. Instead of having all these software by separate, there are softwares where it includes all into one software. Those are called WAMP and XAMP. You can download WAMP or XAMP and install on your server to avail all these softwares on your computer.

How to : WAMP Server Installation

After installation of the WAMP server, go to Start >> WAMP Server >> Start WAMP Server from the program menu. You can find the icon on the taskbar and the below icon indicates that all the services are started. If not click the icon and then click on Start All Services.

How to: Troubleshoot the WAMP services.

After making sure that WAMP is running, its time to download wordpress application from the website. Click here or goto http://wordpress.org and then download the latest version of Wordpress. Unzip the download zip file and then place the folder 'wordpress' to c:\wamp\www ( if your wamp server location is C:\wamp )

1. Now open up the browser and access the url http://localhost
2. Click the folder wordpress

3. Click Create Configuration File ( as a first time wordpress installation, it needs to create the cofiguration file to store all your custom information.

4. Click Let's Go to continue the installation.

5. The next window shows the database connection details. All blog contents are stored in database. So to continue your blog customization you need to create database and its connection details.

6. Go to phpMyAdmin to access the database tool to create database by using the url http://localhost/phpmyadmin

7. Enter the database name in the textbox and then click Create Database.

8. You can find the confirmation that database created. 9. Enter the database name, username, password database host and table prefix for wordpress database connection.

10. Click 'Run the install' to install the wordpress application onto your local computer.

11. Enter the Blog title and the email id.

12. After entering the blog information the default user 'admin' will be created for the wordpress account and the password for the admin will be given. However you can change the given password with your favorite one, but please keep a copy of the given password.

13. Enter the usernmae as admin and the given password and then click Log in.

14. You will get the Dashboard for the wordpress site where you will be able to publish post, change the themes, edit the theme styles, custom configuration, managing users, Activate the plugns etc can be done on this dashboard.

15. Click View Site to visit the blog.
