Wordpress : Introduction

There are many blogging softwares available in the world to provide the users to posts the article and to manage the blogging sites. Wordpress is one of the tool for blogging but its very easy to create, change and manage the articles. It has lot of variety of feature to manage the content available in the wordpress where many users prefer to only wordpress. It also created for the people to earn money for creating wonderful themes and plug ins.
To avail the wordpress service you would need to have account with wordpress. Wordpress can be implemented in the web world by using the domain registeration with the registrar and the space need to store your files. So you need to have a domain name and web space to store all your themes files and articles.

Before that you can setup your system as webserver to test your wordpress blogging by installing Apache, PHP, MySQL softwares. Its bit difficult to download one by one and configure it correctly. So instead you can avail all these softwares by a softwares like WAMP, XAMP.

How to Install WAMP Server.

I installed in my laptop with WAMP server. You can use the same if you want to follow up with my instruction. After installing WAMP on your computer you can just start the WAMP server. You can find the icon on the taskbar which shows its ready to accept the web sites.

Wordpress Installation:

1. Download the latest version of wordpress from the site http://wordpress.org

For example : Download wordpress-2.6.5.zip file.

2. Extract the zip file into any folder where you like to store the installation file. Copy the wordpress folder and paste it into C:\wamp\www folder.

3. Goto internet explorer or any other browser and enter the below address to access address web sites.

http://localhost/wordpress

4. If everything configured properly, you would get the below screen on your window. To start your wordpress you need wp-config.php file which stores all your configuration information. Click Create a Configuration file to create config file for the same.

5. You need mention the databse name,username, password, host and table prefix details to continue. Click Let's go.

6. As mentioned before you need to create database in MySQL by using the tool phpMyAdmin

7. Enter the database name, username, password, hostname, and prefix details as below.

7. Click Run the Install. It install the neccessary files on the folder c:\wamp\www\wordpress with the required configuration files and so.

8. You will get the username as Admin and password will be given to login. Copy the given password and keep it with you till you change it.

9. Login as Admin with the given password. You will get the dashboard where you will create post, page, link, catagory and manage entire posts.

Click Users >> Admin to update your user details and change your password.

10. Click Design to Change your wordpress themes. Click View Site to view your Sites.

You are just seeing the first visit of your newly created wordpress blog.
